I came out of this movie feeling as if I knew Marjane Satrapi. The wayin which the story is told is fantastic - it really is as if you'rereading her journal. As she grows up from being a young girl to anadult, at each age the story is told with a corresponding maturity, andhighlighting things which seem like very personal memories. As a younggirl, the stories she is told are very black and white, and as she getsolder the complexity increases, which is exactly what you would expect.Although there is lots of political activity, she makes fun of herselfand highlights her own shortcomings as much as she highlights therepressive elements in her homeland. By telling of her own experiencesit really is extremely easy to see how so much of it is common to awhole generation of Iranians. Her love of her family and her countrycame across very strongly, and you really felt as if she had laidherself bare. A moving and entertaining movie as much as it iseducational about post-1979 Iran.

Το ντοκιμαντέρ «Black Mπεε» που έκανε πολλούς εχθρούς, ειδικά από την θρησκευτική εξουσία όταν παρουσιάστηκε, είναι ένας καθρέπτης που μόνο όσοι έχουν την αντοχή να μάθουν την Αλήθεια μπορούν να το αντιμετωπίσουν ως θεατές Έλληνες.

Ένας αρχαίος Ελληνας φιλόσοφος, o Επίκουρος, έγραψε τον 1ο αιώνα μ.Χ., μία επιστολή προς τον Θοδωράκη τον νεοέλληνα. Όταν ο Θοδωράκης το μαθαίνει, ταξιδεύει στην Ιταλία και συγκεκριμένα στην περιοχή που βρέθηκε η επιστολή μαζί με 2000 ακόμα αρχαία ελληνικά κείμενα, για να την παραλάβει από τους Ιταλούς αρχαιολόγους.

Φθάνοντας εκεί, έκπληκτος διαπιστώνει ότι για την επιστολή, ενδιαφέρονται κι άλλοι που αναζητούν ιστορικές αλήθειες, ενώ κάποιοι άλλοι προσπαθούν να την εξαφανίσουν γιατί φοβούνται μην ανιχνεύει θρησκευτικά απόρρητα. Για την ίδια επιστολή όμως, ενδιαφέρεται κι ο Δημητράκης που έχει ψυχολογικά προβλήματα. Αυτός ουσιαστικά ψάχνει το παρελθόν του για να βρει τι ήταν, πριν μεταμορφωθεί σε πρόβατο...

Ένα ταξίδι στη Μεγάλη Ελλάδα της κάτω Ιταλίας και η περιπέτεια της ανακάλυψης των παπύρων του Ερκολάνο, που μας μεταφέρουν μέσα από τη στάχτη του Βεζούβιου, άγνωστα Επικούρεια κείμενα που μιλούν για τη μουσική και τον έρωτα. Η σχέση του νεοέλληνα με τους προγόνους του, η αντιμετώπιση του πατρώου πολιτισμού από το ελληνικό κράτος και οι ένοχοι για την πολιτιστική κατάντια του "γραικού".

Ikiru ("to live")is a Kurosawa film devoid of samurai or Toshiro Mifune. It is an oddity in his canon, neither an adaptation, nor an epic, or even a detective story. Instead, it is the simple and touching story of the last months of the life of a man, Watanabbe, public official, who decides to give a meaning to his life by transcending the obtuse and stiff mind of government bureaucracy to get a small public children's park built. As a parable for the soulless workings of modern bureaucracy, the goal is set pretty high, and Kurosawa goes even further, giving this story a lot of character, frequent humor, life and, most of all, heart. And going beyond the strengths of the direction and script, is the central performance by Takashi Shimura (later Kambei in Seven Samurai). Shimura gives his character such a transparently good heart and such great pain that every second of Watanabe's plight and struggle tugs at your heart, not in an overwhelmingly sentimental manner, but in one than feels honest and pure. If even many hardened souls will be drawn to tears, it is not for pity, but, admirably, because of envy for Watanabe's beautiful human dignity in the end, and for a film to have such power is beyond pure accomplishment, as the need to see this and, more importantly, feel it, goes beyond pure necessity...

Set in Western Australia in 1931, Rabbit-Proof Fence, a new film by Australian director Philip Noyce (The Quiet American, Clear and Present Danger), is a scathing attack on the Australian government's "eugenics" policy toward Aboriginal half-castes. Continuing policies begun by the British, the white government in Australia for six decades forcibly removed all half-caste Aborigines from their families "for their own good" and sent them to government camps where they were raised as servants, converted to Christianity, and eventually assimilated into white society.

Based on the 1996 book, "Follow the Rabbit-Proof Fence" by Doris Pilkington Garimara (Molly Kelly's daughter), the film tells the story of three Aboriginal girls, 14-year old Molly Kelley, her 8-year old sister Daisy, and their 10-year old cousin Gracie. It shows their escape from confinement in a government camp for half-castes and their return home across the vast and lonely Australian Outback. It is a simple story of indomitable courage, told with honest emotion. Abducted by police in 1931 from their families at Jigalong, an Aboriginal settlement on the edge of the Little Sandy Desert in northwest Australia, the three girls are sent to the Moore River Native Settlement near Perth. Here the children must endure wretched conditions. Herded into mass dormitories, they are not allowed to speak their native language, are subject to strict discipline, and, if they break the rules, are put into solitary confinement for 14 days.

Followed by the Aborigine tracker, Moodoo (a great performance from David Gulpilil), the girls make their escape. Using a "rabbit-proof fence" as a navigation tool, they walk 1500 miles across the parched Outback to return to Jigalong. The rabbit-proof fence was a strip of barbed-wire netting that cut across half of the continent and was designed to protect farmer's crops by keeping the rabbits away. The girls walked for months on end often without food or drink, not always sure of the direction they are going, using all their ingenuity and intelligence along the way just to survive. The stunning Australian landscape is magnificently photographed by Christopher Doyle, and a haunting score by Peter Gabriel translates natural sounds of birds, animals, wind and rain into music that adds a mystical feeling to the journey.

The performances by amateur actors Evelyn Sampi, Tianna Sansbury, and Laura Monaghan (who had never seen a film before let alone acted in one) are authentic and heartbreakingly affecting. Though the white officials and police are characterized as smug and unfeeling, they are more like bureaucrats carrying out official policies than true villains. Kenneth Branagh gives a strong but restrained performance as Mr. Neville, the minister in charge of half-castes. Rabbit-Proof Fence is an honest film that avoids sentimentality and lets the courage and natural wisdom of the girls shine through. This is one of the best films I've seen this year and has struck a responsive chord in Australia and all over the world. Hopefully, it will become a vehicle for reconciliation, so that the shame of the "Stolen Generation" can at last be held to account.

I saw this movie when it premiered at the Rhode Island International film festival. It was the main attraction of a sci-fi block that I went to without any knowledge of what the file was about, save the IMDb plot summary. What I saw was much different than what I expected, and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised.

The film starts very simply with the main character John packing his truck, and then joined by colleagues of his who have come to wish him farewell. His colleagues, however, cannot help but express how puzzled they are about him leaving, since he has established himself very well as a professor and is well liked. Each time he is asked, John either avoids the question or gives an evasive answer. He eventually responds to them by posing a hypothetical question to the group (which by now have been established as Ph.D.s in fields including anthropology, biology, and history) about what a man would be like if he had lived since prehistoric times and had the appearance of the same age for sixteen-thousand years. This question starts an innocent discussion, but changes in tone as John implies more and more that the situation is not hypothetical. The group all have diverse reactions that become more intense as they pose questions to John regarding the story he has put forth.

One of the producers who was in attendance described the film as a science fiction Twelve Angry Men, and I found that statement to be very apropos. The focus of the story was the interaction of the people in the situation, rather than the situation itself. You will find that as an audience member you are put in a similar position as John's colleagues in thinking about the logistical aspects of living for such a long time and what you would say if a friend came to you with the same story. The writer, the late Jerome Bixby, did this well by presenting people that could analyze the finer points of the hypothetical situation by being experts in many relevant fields. I highly recommend this film if you enjoy the more human side of science fiction, or if you like pondering what-ifs.

I can't put it more perfectly than Turner Classic Movies' Robert Osborne who said "What was originally a satire is a stinging mirror of television news today." I strain to think of a film that is a more brilliant take on society, and all of the flaws it has. It's obedience and entertainment by those who rebel, no matter how insane they are. The exploitation of those in peril for any kind of economic profit. And the fact that everything Beale preaches is completely true and completely bashes the people who are producing him. I was amazed by how much he sells out while continuing to rant about how terrible the people he works for are, and the fact that they just keep him on the air because they want ratings.

It couldn't be more related to today. Turn on the news and you see videos of how horrific the war on terror is and how horrific American society has become, but it stays on the air because people don't want to see the good things in life. They care about the bad and the corrupt. People must have laughed it off back then, but it was such a foreshadow to the near future. The performances are just as brilliant as the social commentary. Each actor becomes so absorbed into their characters that you can't even tell they're acting. It feels like you're watching these people in their daily lives, interacting and becoming more and more corrupt. Finch and Dunaway easily give two of the greatest performances of all time. I just have to say that it's so rare to find a film as incredibly flawless as this.

Cube is a movie that explores human nature and our instinctive urges for survival vs our humanitarianism. Not a new concept, I know, however this movie does it in style, with a plot so simple that it could only be the work of a conceptual genius. I don't intend to give too much away, as the power of the film lies in it's mystery, but I will say that this movie could almost be classified as disturbing, not due to its content, but rather the thoughts that it instills in the audience. I found myself rather shaken as I left the cinema, feeling as though I had been exposed to an ugly, hidden side of humanity and society. Don't get me wrong, this movie is definitely worth seeing, I would even be so bold as to say that it must be seen! I must admit that there are few movies I have seen that have had such a profound affect on me, and I don't think I am alone in my feelings.

Whether Michael Ruppert is a madman or a prophet, I do not know. What I do know is that all of his suppositions are based on the hardest and most chilling of facts. You will recall your teachings on Cassandra and the famous Cassandra Complex, whereby a person who bears valid warnings and terrible foresight is doomed to watch it happen. They are helpless to stop it because no one will listen to them. Meet Cassandra.

Collapse is an amazing documentary that works on several levels. We'll start with the first: Ruppert's analysis of the world around us is stunningly bleak. Our entire civilization is based on oil. This is fact. All transportation requires oil in some form. All manufacturing (and civilization as we know it) is based on energy, which is finite, and requires some oil in some form. Building the resources to harvest ANY energy source requires manufacturing and transportation, which requires oil. Cultivating food requires energy to produce and transportation to get to your grocery store or home. Even if we discover some new energy source - algae, for example, which is not addressed in the film - all the components needed to harvest or utilize that energy are oil-based. Even if we invent cars without tires (which require 8+ barrels of oil to make, PER TIRE), the plastics and metals and components in those vehicles all require oil as either a direct ingredient or as an indirect part of the manufacturing.

Now imagine a world without oil. See where this is going?

This film, and Ruppert, go much further than that. Oil dependency is just the appetizer. Then we get to Peak Oil (or the Hubbert Peak). Then an economy based on floated, imaginary, (fiat) money. And so on. Ruppert builds his case with hysterically grim anecdotes and considerable authenticity. It's difficult to disagree with him precisely because he doesn't allow 'theory' or partisan/ideological opinion to seep into the discussion. The facts are accurate. The conclusions... are up to you.

Let's talk about the film-making itself: Chris Smith's film is shot 'bunker-style' for effect. It works. There are hardly any miscues in the technical aspects, and the editing style is absolutely riveting and never boring. As pure entertainment, if we can call it that, this film will absolutely command your attention for 80 minutes. The film does not subscribe - one way or another - to Ruppert. It just shows him as he is and allows you to draw your own conclusions. Right or wrong, Ruppert's quest to seek this knowledge and tell it to the world has subtly destroyed him. Collapse works on an intensely personal level, too. This film burns itself into the mind. It's point blank brilliant.

Others have noted a major flaw in Ruppert's arguments, including the filmmaker himself: Ruppert does not allow for miracles or human ingenuity in his apocalyptic scenarios. Ruppert has already decided we've passed the point of no return and is now looking to "build the lifeboat on the Titanic". When confronted about this directly, Ruppert's non-answer more or less says that he won't trust his fellow humans to think a way out of this. Ruppert has so expertly identified the problems, but he has no answers. All his "hope" is directed at ways to survive what's to come. Again, right or wrong, this man absolutely believes what he's saying and is absolutely terrified. You should be, too.

What's the way out? Well, I personally choose to believe the first part of Ruppert's argument and disregard the second. We are in trouble. But I choose to have faith in my fellow man, that we can "fix the Titanic" before it's too late. In the meantime, you must see this film. See it, soak it in, let it shake you, and tell your friends. Draw your own conclusions. Ruppert's role is to sound the warning. Perhaps if enough people see this film, someone out there will figure out what to do.

The Way Things Go (German: Der Lauf der Dinge) is a 1987 art film by the Swiss artist duo Peter Fischli and David Weiss. It documents a long causal chain assembled of everyday objects, resembling a Rube Goldberg machine.

The machine is in a warehouse, about 100 feet long, and incorporates materials such as tires, trash bags, ladders, soap, oil drums, and gasoline. Fire and pyrotechnics are used as chemical triggers. The film is nearly 29 minutes, 45 seconds long, but some of that is waiting for something to burn, or slowly slide down a ramp.

The film evolved out of work the artists did on their earlier photography series, "Quiet afternoon," (German: Stiller Nachmittag) of 1984-1985. As the delicately unstable assemblages they constructed for the photos were apt to almost immediately collapse, they decided that they wanted to make use of this energy.^[1] The film may also have been inspired by the video work of fellow Swiss artist, Roman Signer. In a series of revealing interviews with the main protagonists of the Litvinenko case, including his friends, his alleged killers, his widow and Sasha himself, the film recreates a world of intrigue, high-stake politics, love, loyalty and betrayal, which is more intricate and breathtaking than any fiction could be.

A fascinating piece, both in its contents and cinematic form. Editing is particularly strong, given the nature of the access which became impossible the moment the world started to pay attention. Nekrasov had been interested in Litvinenko before the latter's tragic fame but this film was apparently put together only after the poisoning. I've seen some other pics on the subject but none came anywhere near creating this unsettling sensation of being in the middle of it all. That is partly because of the director's on screen interaction with Litvinenko, which allowed me to identify with the narrator and made Litvinenko more credible (half of the Russians think he was a criminal, going by the official propaganda). I lived in Russia and Ukraine but somehow watching "Rebellion..." in Toronto really shocked, frightened and angered me forcing to redefine the term "corrution" in my mind. In some parts of the world corruption evidently means murder. "Rebellion" is structured like a novel, divided in chapters, and it masterfully controls various lines of the complex plot; but ultimately it is not a murder story and those who expect one might be disappointed. I admit I had myself wondered why a "Litvinenko movie" should be called "Rebellion", but having watched it I cannot think of a more appropriate title.

Movies today seem to have difficulty making something happy. No matter how hard they try, it almost always comes off as being fake. This is where Validation comes in. A short film directed by Kurt Kuenne that oozes joy. And not the fake kind. By the end of this 17 minute film I was beaming. I was so happy that I immediately watched it a second time just to make sure I wasn't imagining it. I wasn't. Then I began showing it to every single person I could, and each one of them was smiling at the end. In fact, I have yet to see one single person who did not care for this movie, or did not feel great at the end of it.

The plot it simple, a man gives out free validation. Yes, the car kind. But he also throws in a bit of the other validation, and brightens the day of everyone he meets. Except as he is going out to get his drivers license renewed, he sees a girl and instantly falls in love. The only problem? She doesn't smile. I won't delve any deeper into the plot, but rest assured, it ends well.

The movie is filmed in black and white for no other reason than that it looks good. And after seeing the whole thing, you really couldn't imagine it in color. The music, to put it simply, is genius. An upbeat Gospel tune rings out throughout almost the entire movie, and every time I hear it I want to dance. The actors of course do a great job, overacted yes, but it's clearly on purpose.

Validation is a movie I believe everyone should see. It's funny, charming, and at the end of it all, a piece of joy. Look it up and watch it. I can guarantee you'll be glad you did.

In the mid-1970s Vipassana was first tried within a prison environment with two 10 day courses being conducted for jail officials and inmates of a prison in Jaipur in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Despite the success of those courses, no further jail courses were conducted in India for almost 20 years. In 1993 a new Inspector General of Indian prisons, Kiran Bedi, was appointed and in the process of trying to reform the harsh Indian penal system, learned of the earlier Vipassana courses. She requested that additional courses be conducted in the largest prison in India, Tihar Jail outside of New Delhi. The results were dramatically sucessful. Based upon the success of these courses, another course was conducted in April 1994 by Goenkaji and a number of his assistant teachers for over one thousand inmates of Tihar prison with wonderful benefit for all of those who participated.

During the following winter of 1994-95, the Israeli filmmakers traveled to both Tihar and to the Baroda Jail in the India state of Gujarat, at which Vipassana courses had also been conducted. There they conducted and filmed extensive interviews with jail officials, including Karen Bedei, and inmates from many different countries who participated in the courses. The result of these efforts was an extremely powerful 52-minute documentary film entitled Doing Time, Doing Vipassana. The film describes the way in which Vipassana has been sucessfully used within the Indian prison system to dramatically change the behaviour and attitude of the inmates and jailers who participated in the courses and, thereby, improve the entire atmosphere of the prisons.

Doing Time, Doing Vipassana has been broadcast in many diverse international markets including the following stations and networks: PBS - USA; NHK - Japan; YLE - Finland; TSI - Switzerland; DR TV - Denmark; Channel 8 - Israel; and TV Poland. The film also won the prestigeous Golden Spire Award at the 1998 San Franisco International Film Festival. The Festival's management wrote as follows about the jury's decision:

'In giving Doing Time, Doing Vipassana its top honour, the jury for the category stated:

"The jury was moved by this insightful and poignant exposition on Vipassana. The teaching of this meditation as a transformation device has many implications for people everywhere, providing the cultural, social and political institutions can embrace and support its liberating possibility."

"Revelations" was my first Bill Hicks experience but unfortunately, one of his last performances. After viewing this video, Bill Hicks immediately became my favorite stand-up comedian. Probably because I share most of his views which were brilliantly expresses with his brutally hilarious humor. At times he gets a feverish intensity beyond typical humor and really makes you think about what he says whether you like it or not. What he said was more that just comedy club material, it had a meaning behind it. Maybe that's why, since his untimely death (cancer), he has been referenced and quoted by such people as the band Tool (on their 1996 "Aenima" album) and Author David Icke (in quite a few of his books). Half way through I started to wonder if this guy had any faith in humanity, but by the end his sincere closing remarks just might restore YOUR OWN faith in humanity.

This film deserves to be on anyone's list of top films. My problem is that it is so perfect, so seamlessly polished, it is hard to appreciate the individual excellences.

The acting is top notch. I believe that monologue acting is quite a bit simpler than real reactive ensemble acting. Most of what we see today is monologues pretending to be conversations. But in this film, we have utter mastery of throwing emotions. Once the air becomes filled with human essence, it is hard to not get soaked ourselves as the camera moves through the thick atmosphere. Yes, there are slight differences in how each actor projects (Fonda internally, Balsam completely on his skin...) but the ensemble presents one vision to the audience.

The writing is snappy too. You can tell it was worked and worked and worried, going through several generations. It is easy to be mesmerized by this writing and acting, and miss the rare accomplishment of the camera-work. This camera is so fluid, you forget you are in one room. It moves from being a human observer, to being omniscient, to being a target. It is smart enough to seldom center on the element of most importance, so expands the field to all men.

This is very hard. Very hard, to make the camera human. So much easier to do what we see today -- acknowledge the machinery and jigger with it. Do we have a filmmaker today who could do this?

Πρόκειται για αναδημοσίευση (ταινία, μετάφραση, ένα αγγλικό κείμενο) η οποία γίνεται για τους παρακάτω λόγους: Καθώς ενηλικιώνομαι ιντερνετικά μαθαίνοντας να χειρίζομαι την νέα τεχνολογία, κατάφερα να προσθέσω Ελληνικούς υπότιτλους σ' αυτήν την πολύ σπουδαία κατά την άποψη μου παραβολή. Πρόκειται για μια παραβολή που είχα πρωτοδιαβάσει στα βιβλία του Γκουρτζίεφ και που στην συνέχεια βρήκα κάπως τροποποιημένη στους διαλόγους του Πλάτωνα και συγκεκριμένα στον Φαίδρο. Αργότερα μελετώντας κάποια από τα ιερά κείμενα των Ινδών (Βέδας) - και τα αρχαιότερα που έχουν επιζήσει της εποχής μας - βρήκα την αυθεντική πηγή στις Ουπανισάδες (Katha Upanishad). Είχα μαγευτεί από την ιστορία και δεν διστάζω να παραδεχτώ ότι είχε τεράστια επίδραση επάνω μου.

Η ταινία είναι μια άριστη μεταφορά της παραβολής στην οθόνη την οποία αναλύει δείχνοντας μας τον δρόμο της εσωτερικής αναζήτησης. Μια ασυνήθιστη όμορφη και με βαθιά επίδραση ταινία. Φανταστείτε μία άμαξα του 19ου αιώνα από την οποία ένα τσούρμο ξένων βγαίνει έξω. Έτσι ξεκινά μια σειρά μυστικιστικών περιπετειών στις οποίες ο οδηγός πρέπει να αγωνιστεί για να αντιμετωπίσει τα εσωτερικά του εμπόδια, ενώ ψάχνει για έναν αληθινό Κύριο. Το μαγευτικό αυτό φιλμ αρέσει τόσο σε μικρούς όσο και σε μεγάλους.

Μην αφεθείτε να σας εξαπατήσει η φαινομενική απλότητα και γοητεία της ιστορίας. Ο θεατής, όπως και αμαξάς της ταινίας, ίσως κληθεί να θέσει μια σοβαρή ερώτηση: "Είμαι ο Κύριος του εαυτού μου;" (- Andrei Serban, Opera & Theatre Director.)

Και κάτι τελευταίο: Την ταινία δεν μπόρεσα να την βρω πουθενά αλλού στο ίντερνετ παρά μόνο για αγορά σε βιντεοκασέτα. Θα ήθελα να παρακαλέσω όποιον την βρει ενδιαφέρουσα, να προωθήσει τους συνδέσμους σε γνωστούς και φίλους του. Δεν ζητάω αυτή τη χάρη για λόγους διαφήμισης και αυτοπροβολής, ούτε για να ανταμειφθεί η δουλειά που έκανα, την ζητώ γιατί πιστεύω ακράδαντα ότι είναι μια ταινία που πραγματικά μπορεί να αλλάξει την ζωή μας!

HBO Films is currently presenting one of the nominated documentaries for a Grand Jury Prize at this years Sundance Festival: Ghosts of Abu Ghraib. This is a film that needs to be seen by every American. It is a stark lesson in what happens when we are led by individuals who have no respect for law and human rights.

Rory Kennedy's film is a masterpiece that demonstrated how and why America was shamed. It begins and ends with the lessons from the Milgram Experiment conducted in 1961. The actions of the guards at Abu Ghraib replicate the Stanford Prison Experiment of 1971. What is crucial is the fact that, as in the experiments, it has to be assumed that the soldiers were acting under higher authority. Part of the shame of what happened is that this higher authority escaped punishment for their crimes. This is, of course, the way of the world. The peons get the shaft while the higher authorities get medals and promotions.

A critical piece of evidence present might be missed: the techniques used at Abu Ghraib came from the Brazilian Military. These low-ranking soldiers would not have known of these measures. They had to be taught.

Ένα απ'τα θαύματα του δυτικού "πολιτισμού". Ακόμα πιο θαυμαστός ο τρόπος με τον οποίο "καταργήθηκε", εφόσον εμποτίστηκε στην καθημερινότητά μας. Η σύγχρονη δουλεία μεταφράζεται πλέον ως η εξημέρωση του ανθρώπου σε ένα σύστημα που εγκληματεί νόμιμα επάνω του. Μια τέτοια μορφή σκλαβιάς είναι δυσδιάκριτη αφού ασκείται κατά κύριο λόγο στον νου, αφοπλίζοντας την συνείδησή του.

Υπάρχουν όμως και σύγχρονες μορφές δουλείας που δεν διαφέρουν σε τίποτα από τις κοινές και "ξεπερασμένες" όπως θα θέλαμε να νομίζουμε. Το sex trafficking είναι η εμπορία ανθρώπων, κατά κύριο λόγω γυναικών, που πωλούνται υπό καθεστώς αιχμαλωσίας σε μαστροπούς. Σκοπός δεν είναι άλλος απ'την σεξουαλική εκτόνωση των πελατών σε σκλάβες, οι οποίες υπόκεινται καθημερινά σε αλλεπάλληλους βιασμούς.

Στο ντοκυμαντέρ "Sex Slaves" της σειράς Frontline, θα παρακολουθήσετε τον κόσμο του trafficking εκ των έσω, ακολουθώντας τον Viorel. Ο Viorel αναζητά την έγκυο σύζυγό του, η οποία απήχθη από σωματέμπορους στην Τουρκία και πουλήθηκε για 1000 δολάρια. Θα διεισδύσει στον υπόκοσμο, με κρυφές κάμερες και μικρόφωνα όπου θα καταγράψει ότι πληροφορία ίσως τον οδηγήσει στην αιχμάλωτη πλέον Katia, πριν χαθεί δια παντός στον λαβύρινθο της σεξουαλικής εκμετάλλευσης.

In "you are all diseased" George Carlin doesn't just rant about everything and anything, he allows the audience to truly look at the big picture and find the ironic and hilarious aspects that we will soon be angry about if we truly think about them.

Finally, I liked this show sooo much that I understood that its not even just about being angry at the world, its about loving life and finding ways to live and hating things that demean it. Strangely I am finding this from a man that has aged and would normally be slowly getting less effective, but in reality he is just getting better and smarter every time.

The Stanford prison experiment was a study of the psychological effects of becoming a prisoner or prison guard. The experiment was conducted in 1971 by a team of researchers led by Psychology Professor Philip Zimbardo at Stanford University. Twenty-four undergraduates were selected out of 70 to play the roles of both guards and prisoners and live in a mock prison in the basement of the Stanford psychology building. Those selected were chosen for their lack of psychological issues, crime history, and medical disabilities, in order to obtain a representative sample. Roles were assigned based on a coin toss.^[1]
Prisoners and guards rapidly adapted to their roles, stepping beyond the boundaries of what had been predicted and leading to dangerous and psychologically damaging situations. One-third of the guards were judged to have exhibited "genuine" sadistic tendencies, while many prisoners were emotionally traumatized and two had to be removed from the experiment early. After being confronted by Christina Maslach, a graduate student in psychology whom he was dating,^[2] and realizing that he had been passively allowing unethical acts to be performed under his direct supervision, Zimbardo concluded that both prisoners and guards had become too grossly absorbed in their roles and terminated the experiment after six days.^[3]
Ethical concerns surrounding the famous experiment often draw comparisons to the Milgram experiment, which was conducted in 1961 at Yale University by Stanley Milgram, Zimbardo's former college friend. Tom Peters and Robert H. Waterman Jr wrote in 1981 that the Milgram experiment and the Stanford prison experiment were frightening in their implications about the danger which lurks in the darker side of human nature.^[4]

Conclusions

The Stanford experiment ended on August 20, 1971, only six days after it began instead of the fourteen it was supposed to have lasted. The experiment's result has been argued to demonstrate the impressionability and obedience of people when provided with a legitimizing ideology and social and institutional support. It is also used to illustrate cognitive dissonance theory and the power of authority.
In psychology, the results of the experiment are said to support situational attribution of behaviour rather than dispositional attribution. In other words, it seemed the situation caused the participants' behaviour, rather than anything inherent in their individual personalities. In this way, it is compatible with the results of the also-famous Milgram experiment, in which ordinary people fulfilled orders to administer what appeared to be damaging electric shocks to a confederate of the experimenter.
Shortly after the study had been completed, there were bloody revolts at both the San Quentin and Attica prison facilities, and Zimbardo reported his findings on the experiment to the U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary.
